Abstract(EN)

English Translation

In the current digital age, excessive and uncontrolled use of smartphones has emerged as a serious psychological problem, known as smartphone addiction. This addiction negatively impacts the brain and behavior, similar to traditional substance addiction. The main objective of the present research is to analyze the physical, mental, and neurological side effects of smartphone addiction and to study the effectiveness of yoga practice in resolving this problem. A descriptive and analytical research methodology has been used in the present research. The analysis clarifies that serious negative consequences such as insomnia, neck pain, depression, anxiety, and a decrease in brain gray matter arise from smartphone addiction. It has been observed in the present research that regular yoga practice for 12 weeks reduces screen time and improves sleep quality. Continuous practice of withdrawal and meditation has proven helpful in increasing self-control and controlling smartphone addiction. Yoga is an effective therapeutic option for the prevention of smartphone addiction. It not only reduces the symptoms of addiction but also promotes a healthy lifestyle by developing mental clarity and self-discipline in youth.
