Abstract(EN)

English Translation

The contributions of mathematics in the Indian knowledge tradition are found from the beginning of the world. References to numbers and the decimal system are found in the Rigveda itself during the Vedic period. In the Indian knowledge tradition, mathematics has not just been a subject of numbers and equations, but it has been a part of a philosophical and practical system. Ancient Indian mathematicians not only developed calculation methods but also presented fundamental principles in areas such as zero, the decimal system, the concept of infinity, and algebra, which remain the fundamental basis of modern mathematics even today.
