Abstract(EN)
This research paper studies the research, production, farmers' income, and increase in their income and prosperity of horticultural crops in India. The importance of horticulture in Indian agriculture cannot be denied; this sector contributes 30-33 percent of the total value of agricultural production, which is extremely important for the Indian economy. With improved productivity, India's horticultural production in 2023-24 has increased by 1.37 percent annually to 351.92 million tons. Farmers are earning a considerable income by cultivating various horticultural crops. The increase in income has definitely led to prosperity in the lives of farmers. As a result of the extensive research and development programs being carried out on horticultural crops, many significant achievements have been made in this field. Major achievements are in the area of development of new improved varieties of these crops. Many improved varieties have been identified in fruits, in which higher production is being obtained at low cost and in less time. But there are also some challenges in this area, which have been identified in this research paper.
