Introduction

Yue Fei (1103–1142) is remembered as one of China’s most iconic heroes ,a general whose courage, discipline, and moral integrity made him a symbol of unwavering patriotism. Born during the Southern Song dynasty, he dedicated his life to defending his country against invading forces of Jin dynasty, becoming both a martial arts legend and a nationalist hero.

1. Yue Fei is celebrated in folklore as a master of Eagle Claw (Ying Zhao Quan) and an inspiration behind Xingyi Quan, two of China’s most famous martial arts.
