Peer Review Policy
The WitWaves Journal of Multidisciplinary Research (WJMR) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic quality and publication ethics through a rigorous single-blind peer review process. This system ensures the integrity, transparency, and scholarly value of all published work.
Type of Peer Review
WJMR follows a single-blind peer review model, where:
- The reviewers know the identity of the authors, but
- The authors do not know the identity of the reviewers.
This is done to encourage impartial, unbiased assessments based solely on the manuscript's academic merit.
Review Process
1. Initial Screening
- Each submission is first reviewed by the editorial team to ensure it meets the journal’s scope, formatting guidelines, and ethical policies.
- Manuscripts that do not comply are returned to authors without review.
2. Reviewer Assignment
- Suitable reviewers with subject expertise are selected from our database or advisory board.
- Each manuscript is assigned to at least one qualified reviewer, though more may be engaged depending on the paper’s complexity.
3. Evaluation Criteria
Reviewers assess the manuscript based on:
- Originality and relevance
- Methodology and analysis
- Clarity and structure
- Citations and references
- Ethical compliance
4. Recommendations
Reviewers may recommend one of the following:
- Accept without revision
- Accept with minor revisions
- Revise and resubmit
- Reject
5. Decision
- The final publication decision is made by the Editor-in-Chief or designated editorial board members based on reviewer feedback and journal standards.
6. Revision Process
- Authors receiving revision requests must respond within a stipulated time.
- Revised submissions may be sent for a second round of review, depending on the nature of the changes.
Confidentiality
All submitted manuscripts and review reports are treated as confidential. Reviewers are required to maintain strict confidentiality and are not permitted to use content from the manuscript for personal or professional advantage.
Conflict of Interest
Reviewers must decline the review if any conflict of interest is present (e.g., personal, financial, or academic relationships with the authors).
Misconduct Handling
Any indication of plagiarism, data manipulation, or ethical violations will result in manuscript rejection and potential blacklisting of authors.
